[What am I supposed to do now?

He doesn't know when his perpetual black faded into sleep, nor when he fell back on his bed--or when he got soaked for that matter. What he did know was that when he awakened... he was soaked, and could smell saltwater. Not to mention he was on the ground somewhere.] What...?

[Riku opens his eyes beneath the blindfold, regretting it a moment when the salt water began to make them sting. What he can subtly make out behind the cloth was that he was in a city of sorts, a few Hearts and shadow figures-meaning whole individuals-passing by... and was that a coral split into two? He shook his head, getting to his feet. Maybe it was time to get some answers, as well as dry off.

His hand immediately finds the SFC and after studying it along with drying off/out his blindfold and himself to the best of his ability if the towel over his head is anything to go by... he decides to make his presence known. The feed clicks.]

...Vatheon, huh. I don't suppose anyone would have any ideas as to why we are in the first place?

[Of course, the local who gave him a towel and a hair dryer for his blindfold had said nothing about why he was here. Rather, they changed the subject rather quickly. It irritated him, yes, but maybe someone else had the answers he desired.

Anyone wandering the plaza could quite well find him donning the black coat synonymous with the Organization and eyes hidden by a black blindfold to match, leaning against the wall of one of the many stores, examining the SFC and its functions as he gained his bearings.]

[Joshua saw the feed--heard it, really, but details--and was...surprised by how much relief he felt. He must be getting soft if Riku managed to get so close to him. A shame that it seems he'll be starting over with someone who sounds younger than last he heard the silverette's voice.

Though Riku has forgotten, the Composer has not, and he's going to make a little game out of this as "payback" for Riku's "loss" of memories.

This is why he went out of his way to materialize near the plaza, and walks over to the blindfolded youngster with an air of nonchalance. His hands are in his pockets, and when he stops, he rests one on his hip.]

Supposedly it's an experiment. Goodness, Riku, I didn't think your memory was so faulty!

He knows that voice. Tsu was at the cake shop, picking up his order of Dacquoise when he head the SFC talk in a friend's voice. He pulled it out of the pocket of his usual wrinkled trench coat. It could just be someone who sounded like him. One way to find out! Response time.]

We aren't one hundred percent sure other than we are fuel for a barrier.

[It's only by a few months, really. And those few months meant more secrets, and showing them in ways his future self wouldn't appreciate anyone seeing. And... oh, damn it all. He was going to pay for something for after his current time, wasn't he.

He noticed the strong presence appearing close by, and upon seeing the 'teen' it seemed to be coming from he raised an eyebrow. Not necessarily at the power, but the words the other silverette spoke.]

...What are you talking about, and how do you know my name?

[Sorry bro, he doesn't recall.

Riku looks up to the barrier above all their heads, unable to see the sky. Heh. What a fitting place for someone like him; another "prison" surrounded by water.]

A barrier, or the barrier? [Well, he has the snark of your friend.]

He smirked, altogether too amused, despite the rather sobering fact that his original thought was confirmed with those two questions. Joshua flipped his hair, a force of habit when in his RG identity.]

Well, it's quite the conundrum, wouldn't you say? We ended up here by some inexplicable force, and now we can't escape. The exit eludes us much like a shadow that turned the corner on the other end of an alley way. So, we're stuck here.

[Joshua giggles, ignoring the other question.]

[As if "Ansem's" shadow wasn't enough.

Glad one of them is amused. As for Riku, he's frowning with his arms crossed as he watched and listened to the other speak. Something about him was slightly off-putting and garnered a faint dislike, though the similarity between himself and this guy seemed to lower the bar to annoyance.

But for ignoring the question... he scowled.]

Could have done without the analogy. [Eye twitch. The shadows seem to like him.]

[Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

He blinks at that question, though. ...What. This is the second person who-]

[There are arguably worse than Anasem's shadow.

He was aware of Riku's annoyance, and it only bolstered his amusement. He knew of his effect on people with his personality, knew and liked the freedom of it. It helped to balance out his more serious nature when using his Composer persona.

Joshua smirked in the face of that scowl.]

Really? I find it quite clever myself. [A giggle.] Besides, isn't that, too, what you are? Dressed all in black, and wearing a blindfold besides...I'd say you would be a shadow in that alley.

[~~I see what you did there, bro.~~ The real thing, you mean?

Whatever; so long as he could sense something other than an incredibly dark tint to this one's soul... he wouldn't lunge at his throat or anything like he used to back a couple months ago (to him, that is).

[The real thing, the Nobody, hell, all of their incarnations in one place sounds positively terrifying.

If Riku had done that, then he would've been in for one hell of a surprise. Joshua lazily shrugged at him, not at all caring.]

I suppose I should introduce myself. Yoshiya Kiryu, parents call me Joshua. I guess you can call me that, too, if you want.

[He leaned against the wall, positively uncaring and potentially opening himself up for an attack. Though, Joshua had the feeling that Riku wouldn't, unless pushed to that point. He was morbidly curious at how much it would take for it, but decided to not experiment at the moment.]

[ Zelda was still in the plaza, having stayed around to get a dry change of clothes. When her SFC beeped, she nearly jumped out of her skin. She listened curiously, before prodding at the SFC, trying to remember how to respond in return. ]

Those I have talked to say they do not know for certain, but the brochure I received soon after I arrived says the coral is a possible suspect.

Self-restraint. He learned it the hard way what with possession and almost getting killed for not giving into the dark power within him. He watches from the corner of his eye, distrustful and yet... curious.]

[Quite a bit, actually. He's much more mellow than the one you remember in the fact that he's humbled and worried about Sora on the outside. That, and he is still without one crucial weapon...]

[He looks towards it from his position; it's barely visible to him even if he would temporarily pull up his blindfold from one to get a better look.]

Apparently it has the ability to heal ills. It is also believed to be the source of the power that keeps the barrier over our heads in place... at least, if this information can be trusted.

[The natural, knee-jerk reaction he did to Xion when she tried to swing at him from the front? Well, sort of. Duck and sweep his feet around in a kick. Coat like his, Organization XIII. But this particular scent he wasn't used to.

Now a wait to see what said black-hooded figure would do. If he would attack again, or-- Yeah, sorry man; he's already had several from your group try to kill him.]

[And just like Xion he thought it over for a couple of moments before returning the call message.]

...you have been here before. [He didn't tell Xion that trusting a familiar face would better to try to explain that to her. Riku on the other hand was a smart kid.]

_{[Yipes! In a heartbeat he's twisting his body out of the way--or so he thought. He manages to get out of harm's way of that low sweep, but as luck would have it the back of his boot catches on an uneven cobblestone and he ends up flat on his back with a thud.]}

[Take a closer look, Demyx. He's younger than he was when you last saw him...and blindfolded. -- Riku tilts his head to the side, a bit surprised by that reaction. Though, he's not going to say 'sorry' just yet.]

...I've had plenty of people trying to eliminate me from behind.

[He waited; patient as Tsuzuki thought it over. A few moments longer wouldn't hurt him after all this- wait, what? There's a faint sound of surprise from his end while he thinks it over, trying to think of what this could be... why he didn't remember any of it if he was supposedly here before?]

... I don't remember anything about this place. [He's a bit skeptical, at best. Also, he's two or three stores down from said cake shop.]

...Sounds like something out of a fantasy.

[Haha, what. Though he does listen to what she says with an eyebrow raised.]

[When Xion first looks at her SFC to listen to the message, she was not expecting that voice. Not at all. She checked the name attached to it, and her eyes went a little wide.

People were just coming back all over the place, weren't they? But from what he was saying, it seemed that he was one of those people who'd come back without their memories. Well, so far things had gone all right with that -- kind of.

She couldn't help being a little excited as she turned her own SFC on to reply.]

Riku?

[Not being helpful with those not-answers right now. Oops.]

That it does. But it is the only information I can offer, at the moment.

A-ha. The curiosity he could see mingled with the distrust told him more than enough. Joshua could only imagine what it might have been like if the two had been forced into a pact in the Game. Granted, it would've been an illegal Game, but the details would've been sorted out.]

True name, you say? My, my, I didn't think 'Riku' should've been such a secret!

[While he had a good reason to think that future-Riku will punch him for it, he was going to test just how patient the teen really was. They had no need for another unexpected crater in Vatheon.]
