[The feed clicks to life, and when it does, it's only his lips that are visible in view--everything else is cast in shadow, a mere silhouette. It doesn't give a thing away about his present location other than just how dark it is in there, like he'd waited for the opportune moment to even begin to say something. Then again, he would probably still be silent had it not been for this confrontation.]

Hey. Hope I didn't miss too much while out of it. Though, a certain fox seems to have grown quiet...

[For most it cuts there, but for those from his universe... there's a heavy sigh as Riku sets a lock; 80% unhackable.]

... I know some of you don't agree with some of the decisions I've made lately. I'm not going to explain why I've done it, because it'll more than likely fall on deaf ears. Like I said to Aqua, I helped Vanitas take care of Ven this far because I believed that it was the right thing to do. After all, I promised two people to help keep him safe... and I've done just that.

[There's a pause as he closes his eyes, the rest of his face cast in shadow under the hood he's wearing. He's kept this in for so long that now it's finally bursting to the surface. In fact, it's probably a miracle he lasted this long without exploding again.]

Now I promised Ven to pass this on: he's getting better; almost able to walk on his own without walking dazedly into objects. It should only be a few more days before he's well enough to come out. Though... he might still be a bit out of it when he does.

If I'm to be painted the villain again for standing by someone who's helped me, then so be it.

[Then the feed fades out, before being reset to Sora and Kairi only.]

I'm sorry I've been gone for so long... Just a few more days, and I'll be back. I promise.

[The feed ends entirely.]

[Riku sighs, lowering the hood and pinching his nose in irritation. The dizzy spells were annoying as hell and that was the main reason he'd had the hood up while broadcasting. Now... what to do.]

Wonder how long the hatred and prejudice will last.

[There are some things Vanitas can teach him that Terra cannot, but still... there are also thing Vanitas can't teach─and that's why he looks to both of them. Doesn't stop him from looking up to Terra the most, either.

_{[There's the smallest hints of a smile under that mask of concern. He still feels like the only one with his head screwed on right for once. It's almost eerie to see him so calm about it, but trust can have that effect on a person.]}

Ven's like a little brother to me--I just want to see him happy and healthy, even if that means allowing the enemy to nurse him back to normal. You're there, so... I know he'll be alright. I'm not the best judgment of character, but I can't help but have a little faith in Vanitas for once--What he's doing means a lot to me. If he were any other villain, Ven would be in danger, but darkness can't exist without light, right?

_{[He laughs softly. It sounded so much better in his head.]}

For once it looks like Aqua and I have switched rolls.

And yet you still trust us... [He laughs quietly himself, relaxing a bit.] Right. It's a little surprising, to say the least. I think she pretty much wanted to explode on me earlier. ...and I think I did enough of that for all of us a few weeks back.

[Hey, it always sounds better in your head, but it's true. A pause. Well, he did promise.]

Watching them recover is fine, but I start to get restless being in one place for too long. Seeing Ventus asleep like that the first few days, though... it reminded me of something else.

Like I said, I'm not the best judge of character. Besides, I know how to make Vanitas squirm now. _{[Is that a grin?]} I'll never understand girls, but I'll talk to her. I promise.

_{[He nods slightly.]}

And I've proven I'm not much better at it, myself. ...Yeah, he doesn't know how to take a compliment, does he? [Is that a grin mirrored back?] It's appreciated.

During my time in the darkness, Sora lost his memories and chose to sleep to get them back. But... complications arose when a friend tried piecing them back together. I spent almost a full year trying to find a way just to wake him up.

He acts like a child. Remind me to thank him again the next time I speak with him.

...He's lucky to have such a good friend if you spent all that time just to wake him up.

Probably because in some ways he is. [Oh yes, he remembers the bitty curse quite well. 'Burn, baby burn--disco inferno~'] Will do.

...It's the least I could do after I messed up so badly and nearly lost that friendship forever.

Heh. And we've both come a long way since then.

It feels like only yesterday I found myself talking to a little boy on an island.

And yet my dreams are still the same today as they were back then.
