Seventh ★ [Video] - Forward dated to Sunday, 1:30am

[He's been quiet for a while, and he was still drying off again from coming back when a mask appeared on his face in place of his blindfold. Though, that didn't worry him have as much as what he'd just seen...]

...I go "home" for a while and things go to hell again? Figures.

[He's quiet on the line for a while, staring at the names on the residency. But... he has to hear and see it for himself instead of just relying on names in the screen.]

...Sora? Are you still here?

With my luck? Anything could and did happen.

[No, of course he wasn't noticing that. Nor was he noticing the burn marks on his left leg. And, he may be quietly muttering about 'death by roadkill.' No, that doesn't make sense in the least.]

[Noticing that tone of voice, mister. Don't be steppin' on his schtick, now.]

What's that even supposed to mean, after all that flickering? I've never been not able to sense you before - [lies] and then it just happened again?

Is this some new power you developed? [Only slightly jealous. He couldn't hide his darkness if he tried.]

[Hey, not his fault Lea was an ignorant douche last night and he tried dragging him to safety but didn't make it.]

Blame the coral for this one...or whatever that thing was. [Yes, you saw that right. He just visibly shuddered. But he quickly covers it up with a smirk, however faint. How much to tell his Replica... and how much to just let him find out on his own, no matter what price he himself has to pay?]

It might have been only a couple days here, but it was two months for me. I've been getting the hang of keeping the darkness under control.

[Part of it meant hiding it completely, the other... well. He can't play show and tell for a week, anyway.]

[Okaaaay, now getting even more confused.] ... Since when were you even doubting you could control it?

My own darkness I never doubted. His, on the other hand... [Need another hint?]

[If anyone knows a 'look' that isn't normally Riku's, it would be Rep. He gets the hint. And it's one of the few times Rep will be sympathetic.]

... Two months dealing with that, huh?

[It's almost funny because not even Sora picked up on it, and they knew each other since they can remember. ...Holy crap, Rep actually being sympathetic?]

Five. It was going on for three months before I first came here. [...Was that a faint smirk?] Never did know when to quit, I'll give him that.

[He nods solemnly, 'knowing' exactly what Riku means, even if he wished every day that he didn't. Except that even now, Riku is changing... and it's actually worrisome to Rep because when Riku last changed, he got stronger, and he beat Rep soundly. However, the change in attitude was enviable to Rep - this shift, not so much.]

You just keep trying to shut him down? [Did he really have the endurance for that? Rep was almost positive he didn't - mental fortitude? Nuh uh.] What happens if...

[And there were days he wished he didn't have some sort of idea of what fake meant, but still. Rep was his own person, at least in Riku's mind. While Rep would 'know', he'd never have to experience the mental strain, the emotional abuse, and sometimes even physical agony of having been forced to take on a second soul.]

Yeah. Pathetic, huh. [He pauses, thinking it over. How much could he say on these without the possibility of someone else hacking into it? Riku decides not to chance it.] I have it under control for now, but if I don't hide my eyes from the world...

Why don't you come over. I'd come to you, but I'm not in good enough shape to be moving around.

[You will never see him limping, damn it.]

[That right's reserved for Sora, huh? That mood is really starting to bother him, like staring too long in the mirror. And he wants to know why the eyes are such a big deal.]

Can't turn down so rare an invitation as that, now can I?

[Rep tries to Dark Corridor over to see Riku, and it fails. He has no idea what that means. For now, he's willing to chalk it up to something affecting Riku... but to keep tabs on it.

So he walks on over, looking a little cross as he knocks. He's a lazy little boy with his powers, after all. That's what training is for.]

[If his sunny disposition didn't negate it, probably. Yes. As for that comment, he just shrugs while beginning his wait. How he'd managed to regain his human form, he had no idea, but he was going to be glad of it for now.

He made a point to be leaning against the wall next to the door when Rep knocks. Bracing himself for the pain, he stops using the wall as support before opening it and wordlessly motioning for the younger one to enter. Something optional for Rep to take notice of? A three-point-five inch hole in his coat and pants that seems singed off, a burn wound healing. Not to mention a slightly crazed look in his demeanor. Damn wavelengths...]

[And take note he does.] ... I see. [Real Thing got himself into a fight; that was probably what all the flickering was about then. He survived it though, hadn't he? So it wasn't something Rep felt he had to probe into.]

[Somehow blocking his powers on the other hand...] I don't suppose that what you planned to tell me involves why I couldn't Dark Corridor over here.

[And he was on the defense the entire time, both physically and mentally. Sweet Light, what happened?]

[That little bit, though- it got his attention.] ...You can't use them, either? [That was a little... disconcerting. Still, there may have been a reason.] Well, there is a curse this week. Maybe it has something to do with it.

[He begins to walk, using all but Rep for support as he favors his left leg.] You can sit down if you want.

I'm not the one who needs a seat.

[But he got the pride thing easily enough. Since Riku was heading for the couch, Rep goes to the floor on the other side of the table in front of the couch. He buckles his left one leg under, and his right knee up, right arm resting on that knee too. Rep starts to wonder if other things were being blocked too... He eyes Riku.] Is that why you struggled so hard in your fight? Had to make up for this place screwing with your powers at the time? [Rep resolves to sort out what exactly he couldn't do tomorrow.]

You said something about your eyes - so this is about the blindfold. [Something that Rep had avoided asking about until now.]

Just an offer.

[Silly Rep- there's a chair, too. True, it's the one Luka normally uses, but he's not here right now, is he? Riku takes a seat on the couch, pulling a rag out of a potion and ice solution before placing it on the wound. Who cared if it stung so long as it would actually heal to the point he could get around? Leg propped up, he turned his attention to Rep.]

Right. It's designed to seal 'Ansem's' power.

[Rep looks very incredulous at the power of a strip of cloth.]

How?

[Can't say he blames him at all about that. It's a far-fetched idea.]

Know the saying, "The eyes are the window to the soul"? Well, it's true.

They don't lie.

Lying eyes don't have anything to do with masking that part of your power... do they?

[He raises an eyebrow.] Ansem's shadow is trapped within my heart. You can't honestly think he wouldn't try to take over if he got so much as a glimpse of anything that wasn't blurred by darkness.

Plus, I like looking like myself unless I have to rely on that power.

[.... Oh. He catches on now and looks a little concerned. He's piecing it together with what happened to Zexion. It wasn't exactly the same situation and he knows that perfectly well but all the same...]

... He's tenacious. Any opportunity at all, he took it. [He's clearly thinking about something else entirely now.] Do I need to be on guard too?

[About time that someone caught on to the warning.] The day I got pulled back here... I was using his face. I can control it so long as I keep a level mind. However, with what's happened so far since I returned...

[But then that little reminder- the wrongness tainting Rep's form; the same scent that he knew matched a Nobody's.] Have you been hearing his voice in your head?

No. [Rep sneers a little] Just hearing it around here. Then again, I haven't tapped into his powers much either.

Well, keep in mind that he didn't possess you [-to Riku's knowledge, anyway.], so you should be fine.
