12th Dawn ✯ [Video/Action locked to Vanitas]

[The feed clicks to life, and when it does, it's only his lips that are visible in view--everything else is cast in shadow, a mere silhouette. It doesn't give a thing away about his present location other than just how dark it is in there, like he'd waited for the opportune moment to even begin to say something. Then again, he would probably still be silent had it not been for this confrontation.]

Hey. Hope I didn't miss too much while out of it. Though, a certain fox seems to have grown quiet...

[For most it cuts there, but for those from his universe... there's a heavy sigh as Riku sets a lock; 80% unhackable.]

... I know some of you don't agree with some of the decisions I've made lately. I'm not going to explain why I've done it, because it'll more than likely fall on deaf ears. Like I said to Aqua, I helped Vanitas take care of Ven this far because I believed that it was the right thing to do. After all, I promised two people to help keep him safe... and I've done just that.

[There's a pause as he closes his eyes, the rest of his face cast in shadow under the hood he's wearing. He's kept this in for so long that now it's finally bursting to the surface. In fact, it's probably a miracle he lasted this long without exploding again.]

Now I promised Ven to pass this on: he's getting better; almost able to walk on his own without walking dazedly into objects. It should only be a few more days before he's well enough to come out. Though... he might still be a bit out of it when he does.

If I'm to be painted the villain again for standing by someone who's helped me, then so be it.

[Then the feed fades out, before being reset to Sora and Kairi only.]

I'm sorry I've been gone for so long... Just a few more days, and I'll be back. I promise.

[The feed ends entirely.]

[Riku sighs, lowering the hood and pinching his nose in irritation. The dizzy spells were annoying as hell and that was the main reason he'd had the hood up while broadcasting. Now... what to do.]

Wonder how long the hatred and prejudice will last.

Enjin's gone home, actually. Perhaps we can finally get some peace and quiet.

[His expression is carefully neutral as he says this. His lilac eyes are focused more on something off-screen, and it doesn't look like he's very happy with what he sees.]

I've checked the contact list just now, Enjin's name is gone. [a sad smile] ... You're talking about him, right?

I have my regrets, but there are things that are out of one's control, after all...

Perhaps. [There would mentally be a hallelujah chorus in his head, but curiosity wins out.]

[Joshua snorts derisively, but it's not aimed at Riku at all.]

Foxy left me a parting gift. A confirmation of my suspicion.

I'm sure you recall the time I was in Enjin's possession. The reason he had me was because he had Aziraphale. Long story short, he made him see something that's breaking him even now.

[He might as well say it all.]

Aziraphale and a good friend of mine were a couple while my friend was in Vatheon. He's gone home, but Enjin made Aziraphale think something happened to his boyfriend, one Sanae Hanekoma, affectionately called Mr. H.

[At this, the teen holds up the note Enjin had left for him, allowing Riku to read it. "Have fun fixing the angel, J."]

No one is 'painting' you as anything, Riku.

Maybe you should ask why that freak helped you.

Even if you're not a villain, you might just be stupid.

_{[Then the sound of things moving continues where it had stopped right before Lea's frigid response. Packing, maybe?]}

[What's that sound- is it in his head, or is it in the background? Either way, damn. Missed his chance on making a fox explode.]

Yes, I am. Hm. [He pauses, tilting his head to the side. Oh look, his face is in view again.] Out of our control, perhaps. But our reactions to them are ours to choose.

[Bitter? Why, yes. Though at the sound of the voice, another began shuffling into the background noise... How long until they spoke up?]

I don't know your friend, but if you ever need any help... let me know. Someone like Aziraphale doesn't deserve that sort of pain.

[From the looks of things on her end Kairi has kept your things neat. She's actually sitting on your bed, having been doing so for the past few days. If you only knew how much she missed you from when you just disappeared...] ...I know you will, Riku....just...please be safe. [The voice is small though--she knows Ri is doing all that he can and she's there for him...although at the moment she can't help but still be worried for all that's gone on...]

[Joshua sets down the note, crossing his arms.]

I'll need to confront him about it, that's for certain. If I need you, I'll be sure to call you. I'd like to keep this from Neku, Kyouriki, and Jeanne as much as possible. After Enjin's stunt, I think it wise to leave them out of the loop unless we need their help.

[He's always holding secrets, intentionally withholding information from people, and after an after-life full of this habit, it's hard to quit. Hard to really confide in people. Perhaps it's a good change for him to have people like Riku and Sanae, people he can trust to keep secrets as well as he can. An odd twist of fate, maybe.]

By the way, how's your situation going? I don't need the details if you don't want to say.

Kairi... [He gets that feeling so very much right now, but before he says much of anything he locks the feed to her, but gives the chance for Sora to sneak in and listen if he isn't nearby already. No doubt the other third of the trio's been confused lately. Kairi, you don't know just how much he wants to hug you right now... but can't until everything's right again.]

I'm the safest I can be right now. [He gives her a faint smile, pulling down his hood so she can see his face. He hasn't been getting much sleep lately, keeping watch while Ven and Vanitas were passed out and helping with remodeling the warehouse. Still, he manages just the faintest of smiles as he drops his voice so it wouldn't be heard by the other two occupants of this place.] Sorry I didn't speak up earlier. The call for help came out of the blue and when I arrived, it became apparent I wouldn't be able to leave for a while.

...Especially with how Aqua's taking this.

Alright. Though, it could just as easily be more productive to inform them of what's happened then for them to find out the hard way. Regardless, it's your choice.

[And his lips will still be shut on anything Joshua doesn't want passed around. He knows just how hard it is, having still not shared with his own lovers what happened during his time away in the darkness. Maybe one day they'll both kick the habit, or maybe not. They'll find out eventually.

Though at the mention of his own situation, he sighs. ~~Relevant keywords, get.~~] One hell to another, really. I decide to return a favor, and I get marked as a villain for keeping them both safe. A certain mother hen's been trying to find us since they returned from the dead.

I'm the last person who can damn anybody for switching sides for a good reason. I still don't trust Vanitas a fraction of the distance I could theoretically throw him, but what you think of him is your own prerogative.

[He can't bring himself to say, "Anyway, I still kind of owe you my life, so I've still got your back," but the sentiment is sort of supposed to be there.]

Yeah? How about you do a little sharing, then? Enlighten the rest of us.

And I don't blame you. He's the last person I would have expected to help, much less become friends with. [Hello there, issues with the darkness and those who lurk inside it... but at least he's gotten over that prejudice for the most part. So far all he's done is help Ven heal though, I doubt most of the others would believe it.

[He knows, Axel; he can sense it and appreciates it more than you'll ever know.] Guess we're in the same boat when it comes to that.

Because I'm the first Keyblade wielder he came across who wasn't afraid to wield the darkness as well. At least, at first.

True, but we'll see what happens after my confrontation. I'm not sure what exactly he saw, but once I find out I'll figure out what the best course of action would be. For now, I think they're better off being left out of this.

Old prejudices die hard. He's the entity of pure darkness that once faded a while ago. Due to his relations to Ventus, they have to stay together while they heal. One of Ventus' friends fails to realize it no matter how many times it's been attempted to beat it into her head.

I dragged myself into it by helping them both get to safety.

I'll spare the details; a sort of kinship grew after that. We've been watching each other's backs from the shadows since.

Your choice of friends involves a complete and total psychopath with attitude issues up the ass, freak pets that attack people on sight even if they're innocent bystanders who don't know how to fight back, and a sadistic streak which encourages him to rub a person's nose into their own shitty future and then scar them forever?

Y'know, you didn't strike me as such an utter tool, Riku.

They're the pure light and darkness around here, correct? Or, at least one of the pure lights in Vatheon. [Derp, can't forget about Kairi.] I don't quite understand their need to be together, but as far as dealing with Ventus' friend is concerned...you might be better off not talking to her until she's cooled down. It doesn't matter who's right or wrong when one person is being more emotional than the other.

[She's still frowning though, the look of concern in her eyes so visible, but...she gives him a tiny smile, trying to be reassuring that she isn't hurting inside because of how everyone is acting towards at the moment] That's okay, Riku. I...completely understand. I really do. Your heart told you...and...sometimes we are late for things. [Remember? She wasn't fast enough to catch Sora when he fell into the little sparklies of light so long ago...] Don't ever forget that everything is going to get better. [When he lowers his voice she does too] I hope you've been eating though...

[A pause] She...[bites lip] But both of them are okay, aren't they?
