[...A feed during the attack? Seriously? There's only a brief glimpse of gold eyes beneath a hood before the SFC is tilted so only one of the kraken's tentacles can be seen. It takes five seconds before a deep, almost blank voice filters through the darkness.]

What do you do when you've been lost to despair. [A pause as disks of light(?) are tossed at it from behind the speaker.] What is it that you do when you lose sight of the hope you'd kept alive until now and realize that you don't have what it takes to protect others by your own power?

[He's silent for a long while, seemingly focused on dodging the retaliatory actions of the attacked appendage... until a black hand suddenly shoots electric shocks of the same white and pale blue energy at a now writhing mass of flesh.]

Tell me... What does one do with oneself then-?!

[Click.]

[He stops dead in his tracks, recognizing this scene far too well. He remembers the hatred, the anger directed at the person this power originally belongs to and in a sense, still does. With the both of them here, however... he has to wonder just how this would effect the two different entities. One he despised with the entirety of this being he resided in, and the other...]

Did you have a choice?

[His head snaps up plaintively.] YES!

... But I wanted to hurt it, as much as I possibly could. And I knew what he was capable of - what I was capable of if channeled his power.

I don't know how this came from doing that.

[He sighs, shaking his head before approaching again to kneel down beside the younger of the two. Yet he still refrains from reaching out, almost as if he's afraid he'll...]

Then you shouldn't regret what comes of it. Who knows? Maybe once this is over, you'll find a way out of this.

[Sorry bro, you lost him and he doesn't follow logic trains well on the best of days.]

[As for answering, he points up. The kraken, genius.]

[He glares up first, then to the side. He speaks in a very deliberate tone, clearly angry but so much so that volume won't help anymore.]

I'm not going to just wait for it to go away like last time. I have his powers; I should be able to fix this.

[There's a faint hint of a chuckle that's quickly covered by a cough. Goddamn the horrid that is this voice...! Yet the faint amusement behind the amber is still rather apparent.]

There's a limit on what power alone can accomplish.

Oh spare me. [He stands up.] Don't tell me you got his mouth along with that face? [Then he crosses his arms and turns away.] What else could possibly fix this?

[Angry, he turns around again with a slashing motion.] Your situation is different from mine. Maybe power can't fix why that keeps happening to you. And maybe power can fix why this has happened to me once.

[He shakes slightly with silent laughter the moment he turned away. It really was like a younger him in this case, and it reminds him of how much of a brat he once was.] If I got his mouth, all that would be coming out of it is "blah blah darkness blah blah abyss."

[He tilts his head to the side faintly, then waves it off to the side.] I only hope you're right and that it doesn't get worse.

[Now there's an incredulous look if ever there was one.]

Worse how?

You could start acting like him instead of just looking the part.

Guess it's a good thing we're nothing alike.

... Although freaking him out doesn't sound half bad.

[Rep, he'll apologize for it later, but he really cannot help the laugh that escapes his mouth.]

[He laughs back, even if it is Zexion's voice.]

Oh, maybe - if I remember.

Amusement aside... [His face grows serious once more.] Sometimes practical jokes aren't worth losing yourself in the process.

That's why it's called pretend.

[Yep. Just going to stand here, secretly amused.] Is it?

Of course. I'd have to spend a week holed up in a library just to begin turning into him for real.

I don't think staying in the library would actually do a thing.

[For a moment, Rep just stared in confusion at the offer. He didn't even consider whether he did or didn't want to take Riku up on it - he was still balking a little that Riku made the offer in the first place. It was just another way of showcasing how much things had changed.

He blinked, and finally shook Zexion's bangs out of his eyes a bit.]

I... would need to bring the dog.

[Well, it wasn't really like he had much else to offer him, and other than the reaction being priceless it was sincere. Even if he considered it selfish, not wanting to be alone in such a large apartment and sentimentally unable to leave it after all this time. ...Yes, definitely changed.

It- he was Ven's dog. For awhile I didn't even know if he knew how to bark.

[Still not exactly an admission to coming over later that night...]
